Ask him to file a fresh belated return under 139(4)....the due return filed under belated period will anyways be rejected ....

In short due return can be filed in due period and belated return in belated period
If any of them done wrongly i.e due return filed in belated period or belated return filed...

hi amlan,
my 26 as and trace shows correct TDS statement. but when i start quick e file, it shows less TDS (not showing last 3 months tax) . fin yr 2015-16
what to do???

Edit the tax return form for the prefilled portion with respect to the TDS schedule and fill correct TDS figures as appearing in 26 AS ...whatever is appearing in 26 AS as tax credit for deducted TDS , that can be claimed ...usually prefilling fails at times to capture the last 3 months TDS detail'...

For financial year 2015-16, Section 80 EE unfortunately is not available. These are applicable starting financial year 2016-17 onwards again as cleared in budget
