It is better to file return for your deceased father . You will first need to register yourself as legal heir and then do the necessary filing on his behalf . You need to register as a legal heir first ...once done , his PAN shall start showing up in your profile ...you can then file on his behalf for FY 2017 18 (AY 2018 19 ).....FY 2018 19 returns are not available yet .....when it does, you should file again in similar manner ...refer tutorials for fili...

Here your mother( legal heir) will have in her account the PAN details transferred for the deceased ( your father)...so your father PAN details will be reflecting in your mother's login credentials and she should be...
