HOW TO MAKE TAX PAYMENT...
Hi Amlan,

My income tax return has be processed and I received intimation U/S 143(1) today.

I see 2 difference in what I filed vs what was assessed by Income tax officer.
1. 234C INTEREST - Difference of around Rs. 7 (Payable)
2. NET AMOUNT PAYABLE is Rs 10

My question is how do I pay this net amount. Is...

Check video tab for this answer to see how you will be paying demand tax using challan 280 ...there is no need to update ITR ...ITR is only for advance tax and self assessment tax. It is not for regular assessment tax

Can you please explain next steps after generating Challan for OUTSTANDING DEMAND TAX. How we have to send to officer and apply it online.

There is nothing for applying online ...just paying demand tax is enough ....you can also see it reflect in your 26 as ...in case it appears as pending action in dashboard , just close it by saying that the demand has been met by payment through challan

How to pay self assessment tax...
Sir,
I paid my father etax thru sbi netbanking of Rs.830/- (self assessment). But the amount is deducted two times from my bank A/C and two different challan no.. I already submit ITR-1. Now what i will do for return. I show only one challan no against 830/-. Netbanking is myself.

You shall have to revise return and claim credit of the entire taxes paid under schedule IT (If due was 100 and you paid it twice , claim 200 Rs putting in proper details of challan)...return will accordingly compute refund ...

Yes, one can pay self assessment tax using others netbanking as well ,,,while filling challan 280 , you have to fill in correct PAN details ...the PAN holder will get the credit of the self assessment tax paid using netbanking through challan ( whosoever netbanking credentials it may be)

This is for not paying advance tax in time ...check whether your TDS has been deposited in time by the employer ...if no, you can pay the demand ...

The return utility is the best tool to bifurcate the amounts of tax , cess , penalty etc ...there will be no penalty ...but look at the tax computation in the return ...there you will see breakup of interest under 234 a, b, c and cess as well ...accordingly you can put figures in challan 280 throug...

Dear Amlan, Let me know to pay 3% Cess for the amount added in "OTHER SOURCES OF INCOME" for which TDS deducted already by Bank.

You will use challan 280 to make this payment ...when you enter the challan fields put this figure under cess column and you should be fine ....refer answer solutions - video tab for relevant video

No reply is required. You can use challan 280 to make the payment raised under intimation assessment under regular assessment head
