Can anybody tell me if any assessee did not show his full FD or nsc interest which was accrued last year in his income tax return, whether he should take that interest income while filing return this year??

For FD, one can show income on accrual basis or on receipt basis at maturity ..if i was you , i will revise last year return to show accrued interest income ...for current year , i will show accrued interest under due normal return( using section 139(1)...But you can obviously take a safer call and ...

Provident Fund means where employee contribute 12% of salary and Dearness Allowance and employer also contribute the same%.....this 12% contribution is mandatory , and voluntary provident fund means when employee wants to contribute more than 12% of Basic pay and dearness allowance maximum is 100%...

In context of your question you are referring to Employee provident fund ...basically employee Provident Fund referred popularly as Provident fund is a fund where employee contribute 12% of salary and Dearness Allowance and employer also contribute the same%.....this 12% contribution is mandatory .....
