Yes, this time onwards , you are required to convert filled return utility ( excel /java) to xml first and and then upload it to portal in order to generate acknowledgement ...it is a simple process .....<br /><br />Here is how you do it ...i made a recent video for it , i am unable to find the link , but is hall shortly remake it ...here is a old video link - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=giR2uY4EVwU <br /><br />Just ensure that you save the return utility in some folder ...when you use the generate xml widget in excel /save xml in java , the xml file gets saved in this same folder which you can then easily track and later use it for uploading in the return website <br /><br />I will make a video on STCG and LTCG from mutual funds ( equity and debt both ...advise you to subscribe to the channel so that you get alerts when i make it for you...

No, you don't need to fill return again or something . Return like you rightly observe, is only for putting details of self assessment or advance tax and not demand tax)

You were required to pay demand tax using challan 280 which you already did
