Since you are in India for less than 182 days and since this is a case where you left for employment you are a Non resident and therefore global income i.e in this case Malaysian income is not taxable as far as your scope of taxable income for computing indian taxes is concerned

  • 80TTB - Income on deposits for senior citizens
Hello Sir,
Can we claim FD interest along with saving interest Deduction for Senior Citizens under Section 80TTB ? Or only saving bank account and post office saving interests deduction allowed under this section? Please explain

You can claim FD interest also along with savings interest under 80 TTB for senior citizens...present ITR has option to list down interest from FD , savings separately ....if 80 TTB didn't allow for FD interest , ITR itself would not allow.
