Hi Amlan,I am in a power sector .From my employer i get 1000 per month as electricity allowance along with the salary. Home electricity bill is paid by me as per actuals. Will i get tax benefit on that allowance.

No , while selecting the allowances you should know which allowances have tax benefit i.e washing allowance , HRA etc etc and select accordingly ...some allowances like the one you mention and any not listed under section 10 are all taxable at full

My annual is income is 470000 commission from mutual Fund.Which return should i file ITR4s?? for 2016-2017 and also if i want to claim deduction showing expense how to do that?I have 60000 under sec 80c .Thanks

For FY 2016 17 i.e AY 2017 18 , i think ITR 3 will help you show professional income vide income statement where you can claim eligible deductions ....for savings under section 80 ( in your case 80 C ), use schedule VI A

You may also decide to use presumptive taxation under section 44 ADA and use IT...
