Hello sir ,What needs to be done if company had deducted extra TDS
In my father's case, there are lot's of confusion
My father is a employee. I just downloaded his last five year ITR & 26as records.
Both records are not matching..

If more TDS has been deducted, simply file a refund return claiming back excess deducted TDS

However, note that you cannot file returns for any earlier year than 2017 18 ...
So, for all years prior to FY 2017 18 , forget it ...now for FY 2017 18 , if deducted TDS is more than the tax liability , you ...

if you had filed return for AY 2018 19, you can revise until any time until 31st March 2018 or processing of returns whichever is earlier ...usually nowadays returns are completed assessing within 25 days of filing original return ...so check status of filing, if original return has not been comple...

Simply revise return and while filling the return again this time , show the details of tax paid in schedule IT ...check answer option - video for procedure of revising return
