I bought a car in 2017 @ 7.4 lakh. I have sold the same in March 2019 at 5 lakh.

As per sec 2(14) of income tax act personal belongings are not covered under definition of capital asset and hence no LTCG is determined .It is the sale proceeds of the car (a personal asset) which he would have purchased earlier.

So, the amount from sale proceeds of old car doesn't result in income...

Mine was a very similar case...even after 7 grievances the department inefficient people didn't process .......then i tweeted to the Income tax India Ministry of finance and Finance minister Arun jaitley ( in the same tweet keeping them informed of the delayed processing ...i abused them which is ...

Mine was a very similar case...even after 7 grievances the department inefficient people didn't process .......then i tweeted to the Income tax India Ministry of finance and Finance minister Arun jaitley ( in the same tweet keeping them informed of the delayed processing ...i abused them which is not good .....i then raised another grievance letting the assessing officer know that the case is now to the knowledge of department and ministry ...it then got processed in 2 days! You can try tweeting!
