It all depends on assessing officer whether he is willing to consider .....Typically NPS account should show contribution during the year and not after year ends in order to be eligible for the benefit..if i were the assessing officer , i would not consider the contribution

= 65000 + 85000 = 1,50,000,

Total interest paid during construction period (FY 2015-16 and 2016-17) <br /> = 65000 + 85000 = 1,50,000, <br /> Total interest paid during FY 2017 -18 = 1,20,000.... <br /> Under section 24(b) , prepossesion interest to be divided in 5 parts and benefit claimed over 5 years ...so , 1,50,000 / 5 = 30,000 . This plus 1,20,000 i.e 150,000 can be claimed as interest benefit under section 24(b) ...If this is only one house you have , you can file ITR 1 and show it under income from House property ...check attached picture

Belated period for filing returns for 2015-16,2016-17 under section 139(4) is already over and therefore you cannot file returns for those assessment year now...try studying 119(2)(b) if you had genuine hardship for filing of returns

have one question, my employer not shown my HRA in form 16, could you please let me know how to fill the returns? This is due to the reason that, I am staying in the rented house though I have let out my house (taken through home loan) in same city... Kindly help...
