  • 80TTB - Income on deposits for senior citizens
Hello Sir,
Can we claim FD interest along with saving interest Deduction for Senior Citizens under Section 80TTB ? Or only saving bank account and post office saving interests deduction allowed under this section? Please explain

You can claim FD interest also along with savings interest under 80 TTB for senior citizens...present ITR has option to list down interest from FD , savings separately ....if 80 TTB didn't allow for FD interest , ITR itself would not allow.

Whatever was declared as total income for the previous years remains , it cannot be changed now ...i.e You cannot consider 80 C for earlier years when it wasn't declared in those years tax return...........
