I have spend on 45000 Rs on medical treatment. Can i take deduction benefit of section 80D ?

I am assuming that you have spend it on yourself and is towards preventive check ups ...if yes, read the following else you can safely ignore knowing that there is no deduction benefit available under 80 D for any other medical expenses pertaining to treatment <br /> Typically, section 80 D is primarily for health insurance premium (25000 ( for self OR spouse OR dependent children) and 25,000/30,000 for parents/senior parents (increased to 50,000 for senior parents in Budget 2018) . <br /> <br /> However, there is a certain benefit towards preventive health check up also now in 80 D which is however limited to 5000 Rs total ( self , spouse , dependent children OR Senior citizens ) and not individually for each person.... <br /> Again note , that the sum total of the insurance premium plus the preventive checkup expenses cannot still exceed and contained in the limits defined above <br /> . In your case however , it is not amount spend on health insurance and rather medical expenses(assuming towards preventive health check up ) ........the maximum benefit you can therefore derive is 5000 Rs under section 80 D.......

  • Delay in processing of returns
Dear sir,
I have filled belated itr 1 for ay 2016-17 and ay 2017-18 on 01-03-2018. Intimations for both the returns came under sec 143. In intimation all thing is ok. But the status of the it's in incom tax website is showing successfully e-verified till today. What to do or no problem at all.

It should be fine , but delay in processing of returns is not a acceptable thing ..raise a grievance for processing and it should be done ...here watch this tutorial on how to raise a grievance for faster processing of tax returns.....once processing is done , regular assessment order under section 143(3) is passed ( which is sadly not shared with the assessee )...if you have observed no discrepancy in intimation assessment , then things should be fine ........ 1. i have filed nil tax itr for ay 2016-17 on 25/2/18. and i got an intimation U/S 143(1). in which nothing seems mismatch. but my itr not processed till today. what should i do ?

1.) For cases where ITR processing is getting delayed , you must go to E Nivaran and raise a ticket for expedited processing ...my personal experience states that the processing happens within a week of raising the ticket (check attached picture for understanding the solution) ...

AY 2018 19 - There should be no problem , because i see that you have that much tax credit available in 26 AS ..in case problem happens , you can always submit rectification for tax credit mismatch in case they don't allow you due credit of taxes deducted as TDS
