I filed defective IT Return online for Assessment Year 2015. As a result I received Reminder 1 and Reminder 2 to refer notice u/s 139(9) of Income Tax Act, 1961 and resubmit ITR after removing those defects.

There is a time period of correcting defective return after which your return is treated invalid ...in your case belated period of filing return is also over ...i advise you to take up case with assessing officer and explore options of submitting revised return under 139(5) which may be technically ...

Not possible legally under act since belated period of filing is over ...take up with assessing officer to check whether any option exists

Today I filed a belated return.Later I found that no interest is levied under sec.234A.Mistake was that I filed it under sec.139(1).what are the consequences?.It was a refund case

Return itself is considered invalid in such a case ...it will be rejected ..section cannot be revised /rectified ...file a fresh belated return under 139(4) if syste permits or take up with assessing officer for recourse in this matter
