Hi Amlan,
I am a salaried individual. I need to know, how to calculate LTCG. For AY 2018-19, i have some gains before 31-Jan-18 and some till 31-Mar-18. Do i need to fill ITR 1 or ITR 2 and how to fill it? Please help

You will fill ITR 2 ...for gains before 31st January, they remain exempt and you shall show it in exempt income schedule under relevant head and for gains after 31st Jan , you will show it under capital gain schedule under LTCG portion of the return ...the return shall compute the requisite tax

If you check the related information summary , the dropdown shall pertain to relevant options of self and shall give the option of specifying that the return has not been filed because the income is below threshold level

No, you don't need to submit challan anywhere ...under pending actions in dashboard if it still reflects demand, then you can disagree to the demand and produce details of taxes paid through challan ...Under indian system , it would be good , if you can submit a copy of the challan to your assessing...

The loan taken from bank is not income ...if you declare it during the course of scrutiny assessment as to explain the money source , there should be no problem since tax is liable on income alone and not on non income sources like loans etc.........
